Defeating The Catch-22 Christians Faces With Weight Loss
There’s a real internal battle many Christians face when thinking about losing weight: One voice says, “God loves you exactly as you are — trying to change your body is prideful and vain.” The other voice whispers, “If you’re not stewarding the body God gave you, you’re being unfaithful.” So which is it? In this video, I share my own journey of hitting nearly 350 pounds and feeling spiritually disqualified — not just from people, but from God. I was trapped in a vicious cycle: my sin led to the weight, and then the weight led to more shame and separation from God. We break down the two dangerous ditches on either side of the narrow path of biblical stewardship: The Ditch of Neglect (laziness, gluttony, lack of self-control) The Ditch of Obsession (vanity, idolatry, pride) You’ll also see how to stay on the path — fixing your eyes on Jesus, celebrating progress the right way (like David dancing before the Lord), and learning how to get back on the path when you slip.
